The Rise of Maritime Containerization in the Port of Oakland 1950 to 1970

My goal in making my Masters Thesis available on the web is to provide a copy that accurately mimics the paper version I submitted for the degree. The Thesis is available in two formats, the PDF file from which I printed out the Thesis and a series of HTML files, created using the facilities of BCL Gohtm.com which allowed me to submit the PDF file, and returned HTML files which are very close to the original formatting. Unfortunately, since HTML has diverged between the two major browser vendors, a few of the pages do not render perfectly correctly in one brand of browser. If you intend to print the thesis out, the PDF file, though 1.7MB, is the way to go. For reading on-line, go with the HTML version. Note that the first page is blank, in conformance with NYU's thesis standards.

Legacy: Materials from the Historic American Merchant Marine Survey

As part of my masters program, I took a number of course from Museum Studies. For one of these classes, Exhibit Design, I designed and constructed models for an exhibit on the Historic American Merchant Marine Survey (HAMMS).
